After having several strong runs cut short by bad luck over the early portion of the season, they continued to battle and turned in their best back-to-back races of the year with the series this weekend, finishing a season-best third at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Oklahoma, on Friday, April 25, and were eighth at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., on Saturday, April 26, after leading a trio of laps in a thrilling 40-lap main event.

Kraig Kinser Makes Second Trip To Stockton 99 Dirt Track
Friday, 21 March 2014 -

The inaugural World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series event last year at Stockton 99 Dirt Track was a rousing success. A sold-out crowd saw the best sprint car drivers in the world battle it out for 30 laps, much to the delight of the standing-room only crowd. Unfortunately for Kraig Kinser, mechanical problems prevented him from completing a single lap in the feature that night. Kraig Kinser Comes Home Eighth On Final Night At Tulare
Monday, 17 March 2014 -

On the opening night for the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series at Merle Stone Chevrolet Thunderbowl Raceway the main event ran green-to-checkers, without a single caution. That was not the case on the second night, as a pair of red flag and also two yellow flag periods slowed the action, leading to four restarts, three of which were double-file. Kraig Kinser took full advantage of these restarts, gaining positions on three of the four, en route to an eighth-place finish in the Mesilla Valley Transportation/Casey’s General Store/King Racing Products Maxim.

Kinser lined up 10th for the 35-lap A-Feature on Saturday, March 15, after earning a spot in the dash for the fourth time this year. The third-generation driver ran in that position for the first 10 laps, before moving up to ninth on a lap-11 double-file restart. He would move up another spot, two laps later, on yet another restart. A caution on lap-15 saw Kinser move into seventh on the restart and he would run in that position before Kerry Madsen slipped by. Kraig Kinser Finishes Seventh On A Very Windy Night In Tucson
Monday, 10 March 2014 -

With the bad luck that Kraig Kinser ran into on the race track in Las Vegas, it wouldn’t have been surprising if the strong winds that rolled into Tucson International Raceway in Arizona on Saturday night would have interrupted him as they did other drivers, but that thankfully was not the case. Kraig Kinser Finishes Eighth At Both Clay County Fair Speedway & Deer Creek Speedway
Monday, 16 September 2013 -

The pace of the racing programs this past weekend for the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series were complete opposites. On Saturday, Sept. 14 at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., the event was run in hurry-up mode with rain surrounding the area, with the checkered flag ultimately flying at 8:38 p.m. Central. On Friday, Sept. 13 at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, Iowa, a couple hours delay early in the night to get the track service in racing shape, paired with a number of cautions in the main event, along with a fuel stop, pushed the completion of the program to well past midnight. The results were the same each night for Kraig Kinser though, as he crossed the line eighth aboard the Mesilla Valley Transportation/Casey’s General Store/King Racing Products Maxim.

Kinser took the green flag for the 35-lap main event that capped the Asgrow/DeKalb Clash at the Creek at Deer Creek Speedway from the 14th spot. He lost a position on the opening lap and was running 15th when the first caution flag of the night flew on the third circuit. Kraig Kinser Perseveres To Finish 10th In The Opener Of The Oil City Cup In Edmonton
Monday, 26 August 2013 -

It’s been said time and time again that it takes not only a fast car, but also luck in racing to compete for wins. Kraig Kinser had one of the fastest cars on the track in the opener of the Oil City Cup at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on Friday, Aug. 23, but unfortunately did not have luck on his side, as he was caught up in a multi-car accident on lap-23, while running among the top-three. After his crew made repairs to his machine he was able to restart and wound up salvaging a top-10 finish at the three-eighths-mile aboard the Mesilla Valley Transportation/Casey's General Store/King Racing Products Maxim.

Early in the race on first night of the Oil City Cup, Kinser had a spirited battle with Cody Darrah for the second position. The duo traded the spot four times officially and numerous other times unofficially, lap-after-lap. Kinser worked the low side of the track while Darrah pounded the cushion. This time around, he ran among the top-five for a portion of the 40-lap main event on Wednesday, June 5 and wound up finishing eighth to record his 14th top-10 finish of the season with the series.

Kinser started seventh in the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim and ran as high as fourth in the early going of the 40-lap contest that was slowed by three yellow flags and one red flag. Kinser opened the night by timing in 23rd-fastest. He would charge from the sixth starting position in the third 10-lap heat race to finish and earn a spot in the dash. The third-generation driver took the green flag 10th in the dash and ended up seventh.

Tuesday, 4 June 2013 -

A Solid Night For Kraig Kinser Finishing Seventh At I-96
Sunday, 2 June 2013 -

It was all about speed for Kraig Kinser and the rest of the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series contingent on Saturday, June 1 at I-96 Speedway in Michigan. Back on the half-mile for the first time since 2011, a new track record was set in qualifying on a blazing fast surface, but even more important, was the brevity of the racing program, as rain was on the way, with track and series officials doing everything possible to complete the full racing program. They were able to achieve that and when the final checkered flag of the night flew, Kinser recorded a solid seventh-place finish.

“We were glad to get the race in, especially after losing Friday night to weather,” said Kinser. “It was good to get back on the half-mile at I-96 and the car came really came on later in the feature. The track was fast, but it was also pretty tricky, especially the cushion, and you had to really hit your marks. We are getting closer to where we need to be and we have a lot of races coming up, so we just have to keep at it and continue to work hard.”

Kraig Kinser Takes On Attica And I-96 Following Seventh-place Run At Lawrenceburg
Friday, 31 May 2013 -

Versatility on a wide range of tracks is a skill that Kraig Kinser has acquired over the years competing with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series. One night he may be racing on a tight, high-banked, bullring and the next night on a sprawling and wide-open big track. That will be the case this weekend as the series makes its annual appearances at Attica Raceway Park in Ohio and I-96 Speedway in Michigan.

Kinser heads first to Attica Raceway Park for the Kistler Engines Classic on Friday, May 31, piloting the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim. The series then travel northwest for their only race of the year in Michigan, as they invade I-96 Speedway on Saturday, June 1 for the NAPA Auto Parts Rumble in Michigan. Memorial Day Weekend Takes Kraig Kinser To Charlotte And Lawrenceburg
Monday, 27 May 2013 -

In terms of facilities and venues on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series trail, a pair continually pops up when talking about state-of-the-art tracks. One of those is The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., and the other is Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana. Kraig Kinser knows both tracks very well, as he’s called the Charlotte area home for a few years, while Lawrenceburg Speedway in his home state of Indiana and a track that he raced at early in his career. This Memorial Day weekend, the third-generation will take to the track at both venues with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series in the No. 11K Casey's General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim.

Kraig Kinser Wins At Orange County Fair Speedway
Tuesday, 21 May 2013 -

It’s often said that good things come to those who wait. Kraig Kinser had to wait an extra day to race at Orange County Fair Speedway in New York, after rain on Sunday, May 19 pushed the event back to Monday night, but he made the most of it, using a front row starting spot in the 25-lap main event at the sprawling 5/8-mile to lead the entire distance to record his first World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series win of the 2013 season aboard the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim.

Kinser lined up on the outside of the front row next to Chad Kemenah and won the drag race down the front straightaway at the drop of the green flag. He quickly opened a sizeable advantage in open track. Kinser first encountered lapped traffic on the eighth circuit, allowing Kemenah to close back in. After clearing the first couple of lapped cars, Kinser built his advantage back up near the midpoint of the race, which went non-stop green-to-checkers.

A Consistent Weekend For Kraig Kinser At Knoxville & Elko
Monday, 13 May 2013 -

Kraig Kinser’s main goal this past weekend at Knoxville Raceway and Elko Speedway was to solidly make the feature each night, complete all the laps and come away with two respectable finishes to make up for a tough weekend at Eldora the previous one. He was able to accomplish this as he finished 15th or better both nights, including gaining eight spots in the main event to come home 13th at Knoxville on Saturday night against the largest field of cars assembled all season.

Kinser lined up 21st at Knoxville Raceway in Iowa, on Saturday, May 11, and used a trio of yellow and red flags to methodically work his way forward in an attrition-filled race. The third-generation driver gained a spot at the drop of the green flag of the 25-lap main event and had moved up four positions, just four laps into the race. The first red flag was displayed on the sixth lap, at which point, Kinser found himself in 16th. He would run near that spot for the next 13 laps and used a strong restart following a lap-19 red flag to move into 15th. The native of Bloomington, Ind., would gain two more spots in the late going to cross the line 13th in the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim.

Elko And Knoxville Up Next For Kraig Kinser On The Outlaws Trail
Sunday, 5 May 2013 -

Normally, Elko Speedway in Minnesota, and the famed Knoxville Raceway in Iowa, are polar opposites, as one is paved and the other one of the most historic dirt tracks in all of racing. This weekend, the pair of tracks in the Upper Midwest will have two things in common as Elko Speedway will be covered in dirt and both tracks will host the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series. Kraig Kinser will compete at both as he makes his first trip of the season to Minnesota and Iowa, in the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim.

The FVP Outlaws at Elko event on Friday, May 10 will serve as the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series debut at Elko Speedway, which is about a half-hour south of Minneapolis. The series then heads south to Iowa, on Saturday, May 11 for the Mediacom Shootout, which is the series first of three visits in 2013 to the legendary oval located at the Marion County Fairgrounds.

A Pair Of Races At Eldora Speedway Await Kraig Kinser This Weekend
Friday, 3 May 2013 -

Kraig Kinser has won at a number of tracks over the years in a sprint car and one that he really wants to win at is the famed Eldora Speedway in Ohio. He’s come close in the past to winning at the fabled half-mile and looks to build on a strong run in last year’s Kings Royal, which saw him pass more cars, 18 to be exact, than any other driver in that 40-lap event.

Kinser kicks-off the two-night Outlaw Thunder event for the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series at Eldora Speedway aboard the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim on Friday, May 3 and concludes the contest on Saturday, May 4. Each night will consist of a full racing program, capped by a 30-lap, $10,000-to-win A-Feature. The series will visit Eldora three separate times this season for a total of five nights of racing.

Kraig Kinser Tackles Salina Highbanks Speedway
Thursday, 25 April 2013 -

There are very few tracks on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series circuit that are as steeply banked as Salina Highbanks Speedway in Oklahoma. In fact, they can probably be counted on just one hand. Kraig Kinser has raced on a number of high-banked tracks over the course of his career and one of those is Salina where he’ll continue a stretch of races in the Midwest with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series this weekend.

Kinser will hit the track in the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Okla., on Friday April 26, for a full race program, beginning with hot laps, followed by heat races, a dash and an A-Feature event. In the case of a weather-related postponement, Saturday, April 27, has been reserved as the rain date.

The third-generation driver will be making the second start of his career at Salina Highbanks Speedway, a three-eighths-mile in Northeastern Oklahoma. He made his debut at the venue in 2011 with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series, racing his way through the B-main to earn a spot in the 30-lap main event.

Two Races For Kraig Kinser: Two Solid Finishes At El Paso And Haubstadt
Monday, 22 April 2013 -

The more Kraig Kinser gets to race this year, the more comfortable he continues to become with the new tires and some of the other changes that have been instituted this season. After wrapping up the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series West Coast Swing last weekend in California, the third-generation driver began the trek back to the Midwest, first with a stop for a race at El Paso Speedway Park Texas and then with a return to Tri-State Speedway his home state of Indiana. Kinser would finish fifth at El Paso and was eighth at Tri-State to wrap up a consistent week in the Casey's General Stores/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim.

Kinser made his second-career start at El Paso Speedway Park on Tuesday, April 16 and first in a 410-sprint car at the sprawling three-eighths-mile in West Texas. He would finish fifth in the 30-lap main event, after lining up seventh on the grid. He ran among the top-eight for the duration of the contest and moved into the top-five on the 20th circuit. The race was slowed by just a single red flag on lap-23.

A Trio Of Races For Kraig Kinser This Week In Three States
Thursday, 18 April 2013 -

The week begins for Kinser on Tuesday, April 16 at El Paso Speedway Park in Texas, followed by a trip to Paducah International Raceway in Kentucky on Friday, April 19. Kraig Kinser Finishes Fifth At Hanford; Three Races Await This Week
Wednesday, 17 April 2013 - Kraig Kinser PR

Bloomington, Ind.—April 14, 2013— The first time Kraig Kinser visited Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif., in 2011 he and his fellow World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series competitors battled Mother Nature right up to the feature event, with rain claiming the win that night. This time around, rain was the furthest thing from anyone’s mind, as temperatures nearing 90-degrees greeted competitors, along with one of the raciest tracks they had seen thus far in 2013. When the final checkered flag flew, Kinser crossed the line fifth to earn his second top-five finish of the young season.

The 35-lap A-Feature at Kings Speedway on Friday, April 12 saw seven official lead changes and countless passes throughout the 24-car field. A number of cautions provided plenty of opportunities on double-file restarts to gain spots, which is exactly what Kinser did. The final yellow flag of the night flew with six laps remaining and Kinser lined up eighth and would pass four more cars as the laps wound down aboard the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim.

“I had always heard that Hanford gets pretty racy and it sure did on Friday night,” said Kinser. “Our car really came on late in the race and we were able to pick up quite a few spots, especially on a couple of those restarts. That was one of those races where you really didn’t want to see the checkered flag come out we were having so much fun out there and running so well.”

Kinser opened the night at Kings Speedway by turning the 11th-fastest lap in time trials, which put him on the pole of the second eight-lap heat race. He would finish third in the heat, just missing a spot in the dash by one position. When the 35-lap main event took to the track, Kinser found himself starting on the outside of the sixth row.

Tight Confines Of Merced Speedway Next Up For Kraig Kinser On West Coast Swing
Thursday, 28 March 2013 -

As far as tracks go on the World of Outlaws STP Spring Car Series circuit, they don’t get much smaller than Merced Speedway in California. After the series made its debut at the track in 2011, which at the time was a quarter-mile, the series returned last year to a reconfigured third-mile, which still poses some very tight surroundings. Kraig Kinser has raced on and adapted to many small tracks over the years, especially when he was cutting his teeth early in his career in the Indiana/Ohio area, at venues that tend to lead drivers to really “sit up” in the seat.

Kinser will take to the track in the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim for the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series event at Merced Speedway on Friday, March 29, with a full racing program on-tap, culminating with a 40-lap, $10,000 to-win feature.

Kraig Kinser Comes Home Eighth In The Mini Gold Cup
Monday, 25 March 2013 -

Kraig Kinser has only raced in the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway three times in his career, but he has turned in solid performances and finished among the top-10 in each of those races. He continued the trend this past weekend as he recorded an eighth-place finish at the quarter-mile bullring located in Chico, Calif., as the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series continued their early season West Coast swing.

Kinser began the 40-lap main event on Saturday, March 23 in the 14th spot aboard the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim, with an opening lap caution necessitating a complete restart. The native of Bloomington, Ind., found himself 14th on the second start. After falling back a spot early, he began to move forward and was up to 11th by the 10th go-around. He would run in that position for the majority of the race, before working his way into the top-10 on a lap-34 restart, and would gain a couple more positions in the late going. The race was extended to 41 laps by a caution on the original white flag lap. Kinser took the checkered flag in the eighth spot to earn his fifth top-10 finish of the season.

“After the tough night we had at Stockton, it was good to be in the top-10 at Chico,” said Kinser. “We qualified well with a very strong field of cars, so that is very encouraging. We need to make into the dash though, so we can start a little further up front in the main event. To start 14th and continue to move forward, we can’t complain about that. Each time we hit the track this year we keep learning things that will help us as the season goes on.”

Best Of Both Worlds: Kraig Kinser Heads To Stockton & Chico This Weekend
Thursday, 21 March 2013 -

The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series has a long history, with a handful of tracks that have been around since the early days of the series. Building on this legacy, the series continues to visit new tracks as well. That will be the recipe this weekend, as Kraig Kinser and his fellow competitors will race at the Stockton 99 Dirt Track for the first time, while also making a stop at the storied Silver Dollar Speedway as the West Coast swing continues in California.

Kinser will make his debut at Stockton 99 Dirt Track in Stockton, Calif., on Friday, March 22, piloting the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim, followed by a visit to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., for the Mini Gold Cup on Saturday, March 23.

Stockton 99 Dirt Track, a semi-banked, three-eighths-mile, which sits on the grounds of the San Joaquin Fairgrounds, will be one of three tracks that the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will be visiting for the first time in 2013. Kinser has raced once this season on a three-eighths-mile, finishing ninth at Tucson International Raceway in Arizona.

Kraig Kinser Earns Ninth-place Finish In Finale At Tulare
Monday, 18 March 2013 -

There are a few tracks on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series circuit that really test a driver’s mettle. One of those is Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. The high-banked, third-mile usually requires a driver to “sit up in the seat” a little more than normal and get their “elbows up.” That was definitely the case on the opening night of the World of Outlaws two-night event at the track this past weekend. The finale presented a completely different challenge as the track was very slick and tough to pass on. Kraig Kinser battled both nights and was able to come away with a ninth-place finish in the finale as well as earning the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger Award in the opener.

“It was definitely a challenging weekend, but we kept working hard and battling,” said Kinser. “We were able to roll the car on the trailer in one piece and sometimes that’s an accomplishment in itself. We tested last week prior to Tulare and are finding little things in the car to work on and are still getting used to the new tires, especially on the smaller tracks. You have to look at the positives each night and build off those and that’s what we will do.”

Kinser was the eighth-fastest driver in time trials on Saturday, March 16 aboard the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim. That qualifying effort would help him earn a spot in the dash, after finishing fifth in the third eight-lap heat race. The dash would find the third-generation driver taking the green flag in seventh and he would cross the line eighth, which put him on the inside of the fourth row for the 35-lap A-Feature.

Kraig Kinser Continues West Coast Swing At The Always Exciting Thunderbowl Raceway

When asked what tracks on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series circuit have the most exciting races, one track continually is mentioned by drivers, crew members and fans alike — Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. Kraig Kinser certainly would agree as he has been a part of a number of thrilling races at the high-banked, third-mile bullring in California’s Central Valley. He’ll have a chance to race twice at Thunderbowl Raceway this weekend as the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series West Coast swing continues.

The two-night event at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., opens for Kinser, who pilots the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim, on Friday, March 15 and concludes on Saturday, March 16. Each night will feature a 35-lap, $10,000-to-win main event.

Building Momentum: Kraig Kinser Finishes Ninth In Tucson
Sunday, 10 March 2013 -

Every night of racing with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series is a learning experience, no matter how many years a driver has been on the road. With a new tire this year, Kraig Kinser and his team are taking in everything they can as work to find the right balance and combination on the race car. They learned quite a bit during the opening three races of the West Coast swing and capped off the first week of that trip with a ninth-place finish at Tucson International Raceway in Arizona in the Wildcat Shootout Presented by NAPA Auto Parts.

Kinser lined up 14th for the 30-lap main event at Tucson on Saturday, March 9 aboard the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim and steadily worked his way forward, moving into the top-10 by the 10th circuit. The race was slowed by three cautions, including one on the initial start that led to a complete restart. An open red flag period gave teams a chance to work on their machines as well during the A-Feature. The ninth-place finish was Kinser’s third top-10 showing of the season and moved him up to seventh in the series standings.

West Coast Swing Begins For Kraig Kinser In Las Vegas & Tucson
Tuesday, 5 March 2013 -

Kraig Kinser has traditionally run pretty well on the West Coast with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series. With an extended early season West Coast swing that opens this week in Las Vegas and Tucson, Ariz., the third-generation driver looks to carry the momentum he gained during the season opening events in Florida to the West Coast.

Kinser opens the two-night World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series event at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim on Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7. A full racing program is on-tap each night, culminating with 30-lap main events. The series then heads to Arizona for the Wildcat Shootout Presented by NAPA Auto Parts at Tucson International Raceway on Saturday, March 9.

“The way our schedule is you get quite a few days of racing in at Volusia and then have a pretty long break,” said Kinser. “I’m definitely ready to get back in the car at Las Vegas. Mikey (Kuemper-crew chief) stayed on top of things the last few weeks and we should be pretty good right out of the box this week.”

Kraig Kinser Earns A Pair Of Top-10 Finishes At Volusia Speedway Park
Wednesday, 20 February 2013 -

Entering the season-opening World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series event at Volusia Speedway Park in Florida, Kraig Kinser wanted to at least equal his performance from last year at the half-mile. He did more than that, as he exceeded his results from 2012, by finishing third, ninth and 11th in the three races for the series during the 42nd Annual UNOH DIRTcar National Presented by Summit Racing Equipment. Kinser heads back north fourth in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship standings.

“All in all, things went pretty well at Volusia,” said Kinser. “We were fast all week, especially in time trials and put ourselves in a good position on a couple of those nights. We learned a lot about the new tires and got up to speed fairly quick on those. You always want to finish a few spots higher, but with the caliber of cars that were at Volusia, to finish as well as we did, I can’t complain.”

Kinser opened the 42nd Annual UNOH DIRTcar National Presented by Summit Racing Equipment with a ninth-place showing on Friday, Feb. 15 in the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim. He timed in third-fastest to earn three bonus points in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship standings. He finished third in the third eight-lap heat race to earn a spot in the dash where he finished third. Kinser ran among the top-10 for the duration of the 30-lap main event, which was slowed by four cautions and a red flag period, crossing the line ninth to earn his first top-10 finish of the season.

The trio of races started on a strong note for the native of Bloomington, Ind., as he came home ninth at LaSalle Speedway in Illinois, but didn’t quite end how he would have liked, as he was caught up in other driver’s accidents at both Beaver Dam (Wis.) and Cedar Lake (Wis.) Kraig Kinser Finishes Fifth In Both Ends Of Pevely Doubleheader
Monday, 15 October 2012 -

Running 40 laps at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., is a challenging task in itself, let alone turning 95 laps in a single day against the best sprint car drivers in the world. That’s exactly what Kraig Kinser did on Saturday afternoon and evening at the high-banked one-third-mile bullring just outside of St. Louis, as the World of Outlaws completed the Ironman 55, which was postponed by rain in August, as well as running the Spring Classic that was rained out back in April. When the final checkered flag of the grueling day/night flew, Kinser found himself with a pair of Top-Five finishes aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim.

Kinser started sixth in the Ironman 55 and ran among the top-seven for the duration of the 55-lap contest, which is the longest race on the World of Outlaws schedule. In the nightcap, he lined up 13th and finished fifth, steadily working his way forward in a caution-plagued 40-lap main event that saw the yellow and red flags fly a total of seven times.

“It was a great day, being able to finish in the Top-Five in both races,” said Kinser. “To run that many laps in one day is definitely a testament to our team and how hard everyone works to make sure we are prepared and have the car ready to go. There was a lot going on during both races, and to stay out of trouble and to not be involved in any of the accidents took a little luck as well. We have some momentum going into Charlotte and really want to end the year on a high note.”

A Busy Day For Kraig Kinser At Pevely With Two Races On-tap
Friday, 12 October 2012 -

Doubleheaders have around for years on the baseball diamond, and this weekend, the World of Outlaws will do their best imitation of America’s Pastime, as they take to the track twice in one day for a doubleheader at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo. Kraig Kinser is set to contest both events in his Hendrickcars.com Maxim as the 2012 season winds down.

First up on Saturday, Oct. 13, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Central will be the Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55, which was originally scheduled Aug. 4, and postponed by rain, just as the 55-lap main event was set to push. Following the completion of that $20,000-to-win event, will be the make-up of the race program from April 14 that was also rained out.

“It’s going to be a busy day for sure,” said Kinser. “The last few years the Ironman has been run on some of the hottest days of the year, so it will be a little bit of a relief in a sense to have some cooler weather for that 55-lapper. Having two features in one day, you have to be on your game and make sure everything is ready to go on the car. We’ve been working hard in the shop all week and will definitely be ready.”

Kraig Kinser Perseveres At Rolling Wheels During Super Dirt Week Event
Monday, 8 October 2012 -

Oftentimes in racing, no matter how prepared a team is or how fast of a car they have, one little thing can go wrong and throw a monkey wrench in their night. For Kraig Kinser this came in the form of a trip to the work area on Saturday night at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park during the World of Outlaws event, while he running among the Top-10. Kinser would return to the track and pass a number of cars in the late going aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim to salvage a respectable finish.

Kinser lined up 10th for the 25-lap main event at Rolling Wheels, which was part of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI. After falling back a couple of spots on the start he worked his way back to 10th on the seventh circuit. On lap-10, he came to a stop due to a loosened radius rod that forced him to the work area. After repairs were made, he was able to restart the race at the tail of the field and steadily passed cars over the final 15 laps to finish in the 15th spot at the sprawling five-eighth-mile located in Elbridge, N.Y., just outside of Syracuse.

“Obviously it was not quite the result we were looking for,” said Kinser. “We were able to pass some cars at the end after getting back on the track, so we definitely had some speed in the car. Sometimes luck is just not on your side. We’ve had it go both ways this year. All you can do is put it behind you and keep working hard for the next race.”

Kraig Kinser Rolls Into Rolling Wheels For Super Dirt Week Event
Friday, 5 October 2012 -

Super DIRT Week has been around for more than four decades, which is longer than the World of Outlaws have been in existence, and quite a few years more than Kraig Kinser has been around. The history and lore of the biggest week of racing in the Northeast is not lost on the 27-year-old though, as he made the trip to upstate New York with the World of Outlaws each fall since 2009.

Kinser takes to the track in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim with the World of Outlaws at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, N.Y., on Saturday, Oct. 6, for one half of the Twin 25s that will comprise the night of racing, and serve as the only sprint car event during NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI.

“We don’t race that often in New York anymore, so we always enjoy when we get to go up there,” said Kinser. “With all the other events going on this week, there should be a lot of excitement surrounding the race. We’re looking forward to putting on a good show for the fans in that area.”

Kraig Kinser Finishes Seventh On First Night Of The National Open At Williams Grove
Monday, 1 October 2012 -

Making the dash and finishing up front at the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., is no easy task, especially during the National Open when the track hosts its largest car count of the season. Kraig Kinser was able to accomplish the feat on Friday, Sept. 28, making it into the dash of the opener of the East Coast’s biggest sprint car race of the season, en route to a seventh-place finish in that 25-lap main event aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim.

Kinser opened the 50th Annual Morgan Hughes National Open with his second straight Top-10 finishes at the famed half-mile. He lined up on the inside of the fourth row for the 25-lap main event and would run among the top-eight for the duration of the contest. Just one yellow flag, on the 16th lap slowed the event. Kinser restarted eighth following that caution and got a spot to move back into seventh, where he would run the rest of the way. For Kinser, it marked his eighth career Top-10 finish at the track and his 42nd overall Top-10 performance of the season.

“With many of the best cars in the country at Williams Grove, it was definitely a solid night for us to finish seventh,” said Kinser. “We qualified in the right spot which always helps and had a good heat race as well to get into the dash. We always want to be in the Top-Five, but a seventh at Williams Grove is nothing to be ashamed of. We worked hard all night and that paid off.”

Kraig Kinser Primed For The National Open At Williams Grove
Friday, 28 September 2012 -

World of Outlaws drivers usually have the National Open at the famed Williams Grove Speedway circled on their calendar for a variety of reasons. For some it’s because of the high-paying nature and prestige of the event. While for others it’s to see how they stack up against the Pennsylvania Posse, after another year spent competing at tracks from coast-to-coast against the best sprint car drivers in the world night in and night out. Kraig Kinser, who finished a career-best fourth at “The Grove” back in July, has been looking forward to the National Open, because he is seeking to move up a few more spots at the history-laden venue and contend for his first win at the fabled track.

The 50th Annual Morgan Hughes National Open at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., kicks off for Kinser aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim on Friday, Sept. 28, with a full night of racing beginning with time trials and heat races. The event concludes on Saturday, Sept. 29, with the running of the 40-lap $50,000 to-win Morgan Hughes National Open, which will be another complete racing program.

“The National Open is definitely one of the biggest races of the year, money-wise and prestige-wise,” said Kinser. “Williams Grove is one of the toughest, if not the toughest place we go all year when looking at the local cars that are present. It’s two separate nights of racing, so you have to certainly be on your game each night.”

Kraig Kinser Weathers The Storm To Record Two More Top-10 Finishes
Monday, 24 September 2012 -

Mother Nature tried her best to derail the World of Outlaws this past weekend, as she was victorious at Eldora Speedway on Friday and did all she could to disrupt Saturday night’s event at Lernerville Speedway, but track and series officials persevered and despite a three-hour rain-delay the program was completed in its entirety, and for Kraig Kinser a ninth-place showing, marked his second Top-10 finish of the week.

“After the rainout on Friday, I’m glad we were able to get the show at Lernerville in,” said Kinser. “We put in a lot of miles this week, and were really looking forward to three races, but at least we got two in. We had a couple decent finishes. We’re working hard to get back in the Top-Five and be a contender each night like we were earlier in the season.”

Kinser took to the track in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim on Wednesday, Sept. 19 for the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown at Eagle Raceway in Nebraska. The event had been postponed by rain in April. When the checkered flag flew on that 40-lap contest, Kinser crossed the line in sixth.

A Trio Of High-banked Tracks Await Kraig Kinser This Week
Wednesday, 19 September 2012 -

Eagle Raceway, Eldora Speedway and Lernerville Speedway are three very different and distinct race tracks, but they all have one common attribute — they are three of the highest-banked venues on the World of Outlaws schedule. Kraig Kinser will compete at each of the tracks this week, as the series wraps up a swing through the Heartland and begins to head east, as the season continues to wind down.

Kinser opens the trio of races at Eagle Raceway in Nebraska on Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown, which was postponed by rain in April. The driver of the Hendrickcars.com Maxim will then head to the famed Eldora Speedway in Ohio, on Friday, Sept. 21, for the World of Outlaws portion of the 4-Crown Nationals. Kinser will wrap up the weekend on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., in the Commonwealth Clash.

Kinser and his fellow World of Outlaws competitors will be making their first appearance at Eagle Raceway since 2009. The native of Bloomington, Ind., has made 17 career main event starts at the one-third-mile, including preliminary features, picking up five Top-10 finishes along the way. Kinser finished a career-best fourth at Eagle in 2003, and earned a pair of fifth-place finishes in 2005. He made his debut at the track in 2000, when he was just 16 years-old, finishing 10th in that event. The third-generation driver finished 13th in his most recent start at the track in 2009.

Kraig Kinser Finishes Sixth At Deer Creek Speedway
Monday, 17 September 2012 -

Kraig Kinser has always been fast at Deer Creek Speedway in Minnesota, but never quite had the best of luck or finishes he was looking for at the high-banked three-eighths-mile. He was able to turn that around on Saturday, Sept. 15, as he recorded the best finish of his career at the always racy track, with a sixth-place performance, wrapping up a two-race weekend for the World of Outlaws in the Upper Midwest aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim.

The native of Bloomington, Ind., lined up ninth for the 35-lap FVP Clash at the Creek main event at Deer Creek, which was slowed by a couple of cautions before a single lap was completed. On the first complete restart, Kinser moved up a row, due to the driver ahead of him jumping the initial start. The third-generation driver used a strong start to move up to fourth by the sixth lap. Kinser ran among the top-six for the first half of the race, at one point going three-wide with Kerry Madsen and Chad Kemenah as the trio battled for the fourth spot.

Following a red flag on the eighth circuit, the remainder of the 35-lapper went straight through without any slowdowns or stoppages. Kinser worked his way back into the fifth spot on lap 21, before falling back to sixth on the next go-around. He would run sixth the rest of the way, en route to recording his 39th Top-10 finish of the season.

Midwest Bound: Kraig Kinser Hits The Track At Clay County & Deer Creek
Friday, 14 September 2012 -

Over the years, Kraig Kinser has grown pretty accustomed to having long drives along the World of Outlaws trail. None though are quite like the one he and his team have been on this week, as they will have covered over 1,800 miles by the time they reach Iowa for an event on Friday, following Monday’s race in California.

The weekend in the Upper Midwest begins for Kinser in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim on Friday, Sept. 14 at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, Iowa for the Arnold Motor Supply Shootout. He then will visit Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., for the FVP Clash at the Creek, as the World of Outlaws make their lone visit of the season to the “Land of 10,000 Lakes.”

“It will be nice to get back to the Midwest this weekend,” said Kinser. “We’ve had some good runs at Clay County over the last few years and always look forward to racing there. Deer Creek is a very racy track as well and there are some great sprint car fans up in Minnesota.”

Kraig Kinser Earns Three Top-10 Finishes During Outlaw California Speedweek
Wednesday, 12 September 2012 -

A “Speedweek” tests every fiber of a driver, crew and their equipment. With very little time to get from track to track and regroup, a team has to be at full strength to make it through such a stretch. Kraig Kinser just completed the Outlaw California Speedweek with the World of Outlaws, which saw the series race on five consecutive nights. When the final checkered flag flew on Monday, Sept. 10 at Antioch Speedway, Kinser had recorded three Top-10 finishes in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim during the grueling stretch that took the series to three different tracks.

The native of Bloomington, Ind., finished 10th at Antioch Speedway on Monday, Sept. 10, which marked his 38th Top-10 performance of the season. Kinser was eighth-fastest in time trials at the start of the night, and that put him on the outside of the front row for the second heat race, which he handily won to earn a spot in the dash. He would line up seventh in the dash and finished eighth. Kinser took the grid on the outside of the fourth row for the 30-lap main event during the World of Outlaws second-ever appearance at the three-eighths-mile.

Kinser finished ninth at Calistoga Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 9, earning his third straight Top-10 finish at the picturesque half-mile in the Napa Valley wine country of Northern California. He turned the sixth-fastest lap in time trials, which put him on the inside of the second row for the third eight-lap heat race. He would finish fourth and would line up 12th in the 25-lap A-Feature. A red flag on the opening lap led to a complete restart, with Kinser using a strong start to gain two positions and work his way into 10th. He would get around Cody Darrah on the lap 20 to move into ninth on a track that was very challenging to pass on.

Kraig Kinser Looks To Turn Luck Around During Outlaw California Speedweek
Thursday, 6 September 2012 -

Explorers and entrepreneurs have made the trek to California for decades in search of good fortune and prosperity. Kraig Kinser heads to the Golden State this week with a similar sentiment, though his main focus is on shedding the bad luck that plagued him during the World of Outlaws recent swing through the Pacific Northwest. The third-generation driver for the most part has had a consistently fast car over the last couple of weeks, with bad luck thwarting several potential strong finishes.

The final West Coast Swing of the season, dubbed the “Outlaw California Speedweek” opens for Kinser aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., with the running of the 59th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions, Sept. 6–8. He’ll then head to Calistoga Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 9, for an event that was postponed by rain earlier this season. Kinser will wrap-up the stretch of five races in five nights on Monday, Sept. 10, at Antioch Speedway.

Kinser finished sixth earlier this season at Silver Dollar Speedway in the Mini Gold Cup, which was shortened to a one-day event due to rain. In his career at the quarter-mile bullring, he has finished among the Top-10 four times, with two of those being Top-Five performances, including a career-best third-place performance in the finale of the Mini Gold Cup in 2009. Kinser made his debut at Silver Dollar Speedway in the 2004 Gold Cup. Last season, he finished 17th in the opener of the Gold Cup and was 16th in the finale, which was a two-night event.

Always Scenic: Kraig Kinser Ready For Four Races In The Pacific Northwest
Wednesday, 29 August 2012 -

from coast-to-coast and “North of the Border” with the World of Outlaws, Kraig Kinser has gotten to see some pretty scenic places over the years, but few are quite as picturesque as the Pacific Northwest. He’ll have a chance to spend a few days in that area this week, as the World of Outlaws make their lone visit of the season to Washington and Oregon.

Kinser kicks a stretch of four races in six days in the Northwest aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash. He then heads back north to Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., for a two-night event on Friday, Aug. 31, and Saturday, Sept. 1. The third-generation driver will then travel south to Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore., on Monday, Sept. 3.

“It’s great when we have a week like this with a bunch of races in a short amount of time,” said Kinser. “We’ve had a few days off, so I’m ready to get back in the Hendrickcars.com car. As drivers, we always say that we’d race everyday if we could, and this is one of the weeks we kind of get to do that.”

Kraig Kinser Concludes World Of Outlaws Second Canadian Swing Of 2012
Monday, 27 August 2012 -

A record number of events “North of the Border” in Canada dotted the World of Outlaws schedule this year, with the final pair of those six contests taking to the track this past weekend at Castrol Raceway in the Sixth Annual Oil City Cup. Kraig Kinser was in action in Edmonton, marking the fifth straight year he has raced at the three-eighths-mile, located in the province of Alberta.

Kinser finished 11th in the finale of the Oil City Cup on Saturday, Aug. 25, aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim. He opened the two-night event on Friday, Aug. 24, with a 12th-place showing.

On Saturday night, Kinser lined up 10th for the 35-lap main event and found himself in that same spot for the first 10 circuits, which were slowed by a caution on the initial start, leading to a complete restart, followed by a red flag on lap-10. The 2004 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award winner fell to 11th on the ensuing restart, and worked his way back into the Top-10 on the 15th go-around. He was running in that position with less than five laps remaining when Travis Rilat slipped by to take the 10th spot. Kinser would end up 11th when the checkered flag flew.

Northern Exposure: Kraig Kinser Heads North Of The Border To Edmonton
Friday, 24 August 2012 -

Kraig Kinser has competed at the southernmost track on the World of Outlaws schedule already this season, as well as the easternmost and the westernmost. That leaves just the northernmost venue, and he’ll be able to check that one off the list this weekend, as he heads north of the border for the second time this season to take part in the Oil City Cup at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The Sixth Annual Oil City Cup opens for Kinser aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim on Friday, August 24, with a full racing program, including a 35-lap A-Feature. The event concludes on Saturday, August 25, with another complete show for the World of Outlaws.

“Edmonton is a pretty racy track,” said Kinser. “There is usually a couple of grooves and plenty of room to race. I’ve had a few good runs there, including last year. We’ve had some success on similar tracks this season, so we should we should be pretty quick right off the truck.”

Tuesday, 21 August 2012 -

Kraig Kinser has always run pretty strong at Nodak Speedway in Minot, N.D. After a one-year hiatus due to flooding in the area, Kinser and his fellow World of Outlaws competitors returned to the jam-packed three-eighths-mile on Sunday, Aug. 19, for the Magic City Showdown. Kinser entered the event with three career Top-10 finishes in four starts at the facility, and turned in another consistent run at Nodak, finishing ninth to earn his 35th Top-10 finish of the season.

Kinser lined up 11th in the 35-lap main event in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim and restarted 10th, following an open red flag on Lap-18. The final 17 circuits of the main event went caution-free, with the third-generation driver working his way up to eighth with seven laps-to-go, before North Dakota native Mark Dobmeier got around him with five laps remaining. Right Back At It: Three Races For Kraig Kinser Over The Next Week
Saturday, 18 August 2012 -

With the biggest event of the year, the Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, now in the rearview mirror, some might think that the season would begin to slow down. That’s not the case for Kraig Kinser and his fellow World of Outlaws competitors. The series will continue a busy month of August with three more races in a six-day span over the next week.

The trio of races kicks off for Kinser in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., with the NAPA Auto Parts Kasey Kahne Challenge Presented by Mid-Nebraska Land Developing, A&L Sales & Service and Friesen Chevrolet, followed by Round 2 of The Duel at the Dakotas Presented by Gerdau and Sleep Inn & Suites at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., on Friday, Aug. 17, and concludes with the Magic City Showdown Presented by Gerdau, Sleep Inn & Suites, Minot Visitors Bureau and Magic City Implement at Nodak Speedway in Minot, N.D., on Sunday, Aug. 19.

Kraig Kinser Finishes Fourth In The Knoxville Nationals
Monday, 13 August 2012 -

Qualifying for the main event at the Knoxville Nationals is often a victory in itself, as traditionally the biggest field of the year is present at the famed half-mile in Iowa. Being a former winner of sprint car racing’s marquee event, Kraig Kinser, always strives for a little bit more at the Nationals. He lived up to his own expectations again this year, as he finished fourth in the 50-lap finale, following a third-place showing on the second qualifying night aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim.

“It was a very good Nationals for us,” said Kinser. “The car felt good the whole time we were there, and I felt pretty comfortable as well. We moved forward just about every time we went on the track, and you have to be happy with that. When you are at Knoxville, finishing up front is a big key, especially earlier in the week to put yourself in a good position for Saturday. It was a fun week over there.”

Kinser lined up ninth on Saturday night and gained a spot at the drop of the green flag to move into the eighth position. He worked his way into seventh by the eighth circuit, and took the sixth spot on the 11th go-around. The 2005 Knoxville Nationals winner moved into the Top-Five on the 20th lap, getting around two-time and defending World of Outlaws champion Jason Meyers.

Kraig Kinser Finishes On The Podium At Knoxville On Thursday: Locked Into Top-10 For Saturday
Friday, 10 August 2012 -

With a new Friday format this year in the 52nd Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, many drivers will be faced with a tough choice, whether to give up event points for Saturday and start from a clean slate on Friday. One driver that won’t have to make that choice is Kraig Kinser. The 2005 winner of the Knoxville Nationals used a podium finish on Thursday night in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim to lock himself into the ninth starting spot heading into Saturday night’s 50-lapper.

“It feels good to finish up front,” said Kinser. “After the heat race, I feel pretty fortunate to be on the podium. It could have been bad for us, and it turned out to be fortunate and we had a good solid run. It feels good to be in the field and not have to make a decision on whether to run on Friday night.”

Kinser lined up fourth for the 25-lap preliminary feature on Thursday night, and ran among the Top-six for the duration of the contest, which was slowed by a pair of cautions and a red flag. At the drop of the green, he battled Sammy Swindell for the fourth position. Following a restart on the seventh circuit, the third-generation driver was able to move into third. He battled veteran Stevie Smith for that position for several laps, before falling back a couple of spots.

Kraig Kinser Sets Sights On The 52nd Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals
Wednesday, 8 August 2012 -

The date August 15, 2005 will forever be etched in Kraig Kinser’s mind. That’s the day he won the Goodyear Knoxville Nationals for the first time. In the process of claiming sprint car racing’s biggest event, he joined his father Steve, as the pair became the first father/son duo to accomplish that feat. The younger Kinser’s victory that season came aboard the family-owned No. 11K, which he is piloting again this year.

“That’s definitely a race I’ll remember for the rest of my life,” said Kinser. “It was pretty unbelievable to win it and very special. We are rolling pretty good right now and it would be great to get a second one to go along with that first one.”

Kinser returns to Knoxville this week, and takes to the track in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim on Thursday, August 9, for the second of two qualifying nights as part of the 52nd Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, which is sanctioned by the World of Outlaws. Each entrant will receive two laps of time trials, followed by heavily inverted heat races, which will set the lineups for the corresponding main events that night. Drivers will earn event points each time they take to the track on the preliminary nights, which will ultimately determine the starting grids for feature events on Saturday, August 11.

Kraig Kinser Finishes Seventh At Bloomington; Ironman 55 Postponed By Rain
Monday, 6 August 2012 -

Racing at his home track of Bloomington Speedway in Indiana, doesn’t add any extra pressure for Kraig Kinser. If anything, it helps him relax, as he has the chance to visit with countless family members and friends that he doesn’t get to see very often due to the extensive World of Outlaws schedule that keeps him on the road. The third-generation driver had the chance to race at Bloomington for the second consecutive year with the World of Outlaws on Friday, August 3, and he finished seventh to earn his seventh-career Top-10 finish at the quarter-mile bullring in eight starts.

“It’s always good to be home,” said Kinser. “I really enjoy getting to see all my family and friends, and people I grew up racing with. Many of them only get to see us race a time or two each year, so it’s great to be able to put on a good show for them. There is no nice place like home.”

Kinser started eighth on Friday night and ran in that position for the early portions of the 40-lap contest, before taking seventh on the 13th circuit. The 27-year-old lined up seventh on the final restart of the night with two laps to go and finished in that same spot, which marked his 33rd Top-10 performance of the season. The feature race was slowed by a red flag on the opening lap and then a yellow with two circuits remaining, which set up a green-white-checker finish.

A Quick Trip Home: Kraig Kinser In Action At Bloomington Speedway
Friday, 3 August 2012 -

Racing with the World of Outlaws in the heart of the summer, it’s not very often that a driver gets to go home, let alone race at their home track. Kraig Kinser will get to do both of those this week, as the series pays a visit to Bloomington Speedway in Indiana, for the second straight year, before heading to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 for the Ironman 55.

Kinser opens the weekend in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim on Friday, August 3, at Bloomington, followed by the Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 on Saturday, August 4, which is the longest race on the World of Outlaws schedule.

“It’s great to be racing at Bloomington for the second year in-a-row,” said Kinser. “It was an outstanding event last year and should be just as big this year. With how well we have been running on the smaller tracks, I’m really looking forward to it. It would be amazing to win a World of Outlaws event at Bloomington.”

Consistency For Kraig Kinser In Canada: Earns Three Top-10 Finishes
Thursday, 2 August 2012 -

Consistency has been one of the main focuses for Kraig Kinser and his team this year, and it has paid off to the tune of four wins so far, along with over 30 Top-10 finishes and nearly 20 Top-Five performances, just past the halfway point of the season. The third-generation driver continued his consistent campaign recently in Canada, as the World of Outlaws made their first of two visits north of the border. In a span of four races, Kinser finished seventh or better in three of those starts and was 11th in the other, piloting the Hendrickcars.com Maxim.

“All in all it was a pretty good four races,” said Kinser. “We always want to finish a few spots further up, but we had some bad luck a couple of nights. We were fast for the most part and put ourselves in a good position a few of the nights, and that’s all you can ask for.”

Kinser wrapped up the four-race Canadian swing with a fourth-place finish at Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario on Tuesday, July 31. He lined up fourth in the 30-lap A-Feature and battled four-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz for third for most of the main event. Kinser nearly took the spot a couple of times. At one point, he was three-wide battling Schatz and his father Steve. The fourth-place showing for the younger Kinser was his 17th Top-Five finish of the season.

World Traveler: Kraig Kinser Heads North Of The Border For Four Races
Wednesday, 25 July 2012 - Kraig Kinser PR

Bloomington, Ind.—July 25, 2012— For the last half dozen years, the World of Outlaws have continually expanded their presence north of the border in Canada. What began as four races at two tracks in 2007 has blossomed into six nights of racing at five facilities in the Great White North, with the first of those four races taking place over a five-day span over the next week. Kraig Kinser made his first appearance in Canada in 2008, adding to his resume, which included previous international starts in Australia.

Kinser will open the World of Outlaws first Canadian visit of 2012 aboard the Hendrickcars.com Maxim at Autodrome Granby in Quebec, on Friday, July 27. He’ll then head to Autodrome Drummond, also in Quebec on Saturday, July 28. Action will shift to Cornwall Motor Speedway in Ontario on Sunday, July 29, with the four-race stretch wrapping up at Ohsweken Speedway on Tuesday, July 31.

“The fans in Canada are amazing, and they always turn out in large numbers,” said Kinser. “To have four races up there during this stretch is great for us. I can’t wait to get up there and climb in the Hendrickcars.com car.”

Kraig Kinser Finishes Fourth At Williams Grove Speedway In Summer Nationals
Monday, 23 July 2012 - Kraig Kinser PR

Bloomington, Ind.—July 23, 2012— The famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., is one of the most unique and challenging tracks on the World of Outlaws schedule. It’s a venue that often takes drivers years and years to get comfortable at and figure out. Kraig Kinser raced at the venerable half-mile for the first time in 2003, and the following season in just his fourth feature event start at the track, finished sixth. That finish remained his best for over eight years, as he continued to learn the nuances of the track. He bettered that this past weekend as he came home fourth during the Summer Nationals on Saturday, July 21, which also marked his first-career Top-Five showing at Williams Grove.

Kinser started third in the 30-lap main event and fell back one spot to fourth at the drop of the green. He would battle Gerard McIntyre for third in the early going, taking the position on a double-file restart on the fifth lap. He would run in that spot until lap-19, when Greg Hodnett got around him, just before the final caution flag of the night would fly. The race was slowed a total of seven times by yellow and red flag periods.

“To finish fourth at Williams Grove was great, especially after we struggled there earlier this season,” said Kinser. “The track was so fast with all the rain they had gotten in the couple of days before the race, so you really had to be careful and try not to make too many mistakes. We qualified in the right spot, won our heat and were able to make it in the dash, which always helps at a track like Williams Grove.”

Kinser began the night as the 10th-fastest driver in time trials, and won the second heat race to earn a spot in the dash. He both started and finished third in the dash. The 2004 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award winner now has seven career Top-10 finishes at Williams Grove.

That’s the feeling that Kraig Kinser has right now, as he has been one of the fastest and winningest drivers on the World of Outlaws circuit over the last few weeks. The “Month of Money” continues for Kinser this week with five main events as part of the second East Coast swing of the season for the World of Outlaws.

Kinser will open the week at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., in the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Twin 30’s Presented by GottaRace.com on Tuesday, July 17, with $10,000 awaiting the winner in each of the two main events, and $5,000 going to the overall Silver Cup champion. He will then head to the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., for the Summer Nationals on Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21, with $25,000 on the line in the finale. An overnight trip to New York will find Kinser piloting the Hendrickcars.com Maxim on Sunday, July 22, at Lebanon Valley Speedway.

Kinser took the high-banked four-tenths-mile Lernerville Speedway for the first time with the World of Outlaws in 2004. He has made a total of 14 main event starts at the track in Western Pennsylvania, and finished a career-best fifth in the Commonwealth Clash last fall.

Charging Hard: Kraig Kinser Finishes Fifth In Kings Royal At Eldora
Sunday, 15 July 2012 - Kraig Kinser PR

Bloomington, Ind.—July 15, 2012—With a star-studded lineup in-place for the 29th Annual Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway on Saturday night, it would be no easy task to start on the last row of the 24-car field and be a contender for the $50,000 win. Don’t tell that to Kraig Kinser, who masterfully sliced his way through the field in the Hendrickcars.com Maxim, and at the end of the 40-lap contest found himself in the fifth position, earning the KSE Hard Charger Award.

For Kinser it was the fifth time he had raced his way into the main event of the Kings Royal, and marked his best-career finish in the marquee event, where he now has three Top-10 runs. The finale of the Kings Royal was taped for broadcast and will air on SPEED on Saturday, July 28, at 2 p.m. Eastern.

“To finish fifth, I can’t complain, especially after how our night started,” said Kinser. “We were a little off in qualifying and the heat race. When we got to fourth, we didn’t need that red flag. It really hurt us on the restart. It was frustrating in one sense, but to come all the way up to fifth from where we started, it was a great night.”

Sunday, 8 July 2012 - Kraig Kinser PR

Bloomington, Ind.—July 8, 2012— Entering the event at Beaver Dam Raceway in Wisconsin, the furthest back any driver had come from to win with the World of Outlaws in 2012 had been the 10th starting spot, and that was Kraig Kinser at River Cities Speedway on June 15. He bettered that by one spot on Saturday night, as he came from the 11th position to win the Third Annual Jim Boyd Memorial to earn his fourth victory of the season, which ties him for second-most in the series.

Kinser, piloting the Hendrickcars.com Maxim, took the lead from his father Steve on the back straightaway on lap-24, using the high side of the high-banked one-third-mile bullring, and would lead the remainder of the 40-lap contest.

“This win feels great,” said Kinser from Victory Lane. “To come from that far back with how tough the competition is right now, that is pretty amazing. The Hendrickcars.com car is so fast right now, and it’s a pleasure to drive. Mikey (Kuemper) and the crew is doing a great job, and we are having so much fun. Last month the wins came in threes, so hopefully we have a couple more in us still this month.”
